Nu Delta Pi Rush Information

So you recognize the many benefits of Greek Life and NU DELTA PI in
particular.  Wondering how you can find out more about becoming a part of
the best thing to happen to your college life?  Then please read on…

Frequently Asked Questions about Rush:

1.        What is Rush?
"Rush" or "Recruitment" is the process by which Fraternities and Sororities find new members.  Rush is typically a three week-long period where the organizations hold events so that you can get a sample of Fraternity life.  Members of the organizations want to get to know you, and we want you to get to know us.

At the end of rush, the Greek organizations select new members.  The people make the Fraternity; so new members really are the lifeblood of any Greek organization.  Rush is the time when you, as a student, have a chance to step up and begin deciding how you want to shape your college experience and indeed, the rest of your life.

2.        When can I rush Nu Delta Pi?
We hold rush events every year in the fall and again in the spring.  The rush period is typically about 3 weeks after the start of the semester.  This gives you the perfect opportunity to take a break from the monotony of the first few weeks of classes and experience what college has to offer.

You don't have to be a freshman to rush Nu Delta Pi.  We accept members from all undergraduate classes.  Our brothers will tell you that the earlier you get in, the more you will get out of your Nu Delta Pi experience.

3.        So do I have to sign anything or pay a fee to rush?
NO!  First of all, Rush events are absolutely free. Secondly, you don’t have to commit to attending all of the rush events.  We encourage our brothers to get involved in other activities, so we understand that you may have scheduling conflicts.  Rush is perhaps the ONLY time during your college career that you can experience a wide variety of activities without running up the credit card bill.  Our senior brothers will definitely urge you to take advantage of this.

4.        I don't want to join a fraternity.  Can I still come to rush events?
Of course you can.  All we ask is that you keep an open mind about fraternities and all that we can offer.  If you fall in this category, we hope that you'll ask lots of questions about why Nu Delta Pi is a great experience.  Many of our members had no intentions of joining a fraternity when they came to college.  They found out that fraternities aren't very much like the stereotypes at all.  We are out to meet new friends first and foremost, so come check it out.

5.        Rushing Nu Delta Pi is a lot of fun.  So what am I supposed to do now?
During the rush process, you will most likely find that you want to experience what Nu Delta Pi can offer you.  You'll notice that the last few nights of the rush schedule are reserved for "Invitation Only" events.  At these events, we will extend bids (see below) to the young men who we see will be good fits for our organization.

6.        Are you telling me that joining a fraternity is a competition?
Not exactly.  We don't have a set number of members that we're looking for, so you're not "competing" with your friends for slots in our brotherhood.  We simply want to select young men who show that they are willing to have a positive college experience.

Personal development is inevitable at this time in your life, and we are looking for men who are up to the challenge.  There is no strict definition of whom we will accept and whom we will not accept.  As long as you are a young man who is eager to learn and wants to have fun with your brothers, chances are that you won't have any conflict.

7.        What is a bid?
A bid is simply a formal invitation to join the fraternity.  They are handed out at the end of the rush period to the Young Men who show that they have the desire and whatever else it takes to join Nu Delta Pi.

8.        What do I have to do to get a bid?
Start by coming to RUSH events and meet the brothers.  Better yet, get in contact with us before RUSH (www.nu-delta-pi.com) so that we can get to know you!  Have fun, enjoy yourself, and ask questions about what Nu Delta Pi can do for you.  It's really that simple.
